President Bush Repeats His Longstanding Call For The Creation Of A Palestinian State, But Also Reiterates Israel's Right To Self Defense

By Jimmy DeYoung

At his final press conference before leaving office, United States President George W. Bush strongly backed Israel's actions in Gaza restating his policy that the Israelis have a right to self defense. At the same time, the president repeated his longstanding call for the creation of a Palestinian state.

Additional world leaders, both in the Middle East and Europe are working to bring about a resolution to the ongoing Gaza military operation including the French and Egyptian presidents working to bring the two sides together with Jordan's King Abdullah, the United Nations Secretary-General Ban ki-Moon, and the Quartet's Middle East Peace Envoy, Tony Blair, also working to bring about a ceasefire.

Jimmy's Prophetic Prospective on the News

As the war in the Gaza Strip continues world leaders are working at trying to bring about a ceasefire and peace in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict which is a precursor to how Bible prophecy will be fulfilled.

President Bush, at the last news conference of his presidential term, was focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict unfolding in the Gaza Strip. The United States President called for a sustainable ceasefire, a ceasefire that will take effect when Hamas quits firing its rockets at Israel.

In the meantime, French President Sarkozy and President Mubarak of Egypt are working behind the scenes to bring the Israelis and the Palestinians together at the negotiating table in order to have a ceasefire put in place. Tony Blair, actually in Israel itself, is working between the two parties to bring a stop to the violence - Blair does this as the peace envoy for the Quartet, the United States, the European Union, the United Nations, and Russia.

World leaders expending all of this effort to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was foretold in Bible prophecy. Revelation 17:17 says that God puts into the minds and hearts of world leaders to make decisions that will accomplish His will. Ezekiel 35, Malachi 1, and Obadiah reveal that the Israelis and the Palestinians will be in conflict just prior to the return of Jesus Christ.

Current events in the Gaza Strip are indeed setting the stage for Bible prophecy to be fulfilled.
