A former Justice Department attorney hopes a new president will take office in January and quickly proceed to "fumigate" the DOJ.

Fox News recently reported that House GOP leaders are pursuing a plan to hold Attorney General Eric Holder and the Justice Department in contempt of Congress for "stonewalling" them over information regarding the administration's Fast and Furious gun-tracking program, which by most accounts was a complete fiasco.

Congressman Darrell Issa (R-California) confirmed to the cable network that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) gave him and others on his House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform the authority to draft a contempt of Congress resolution.

J. Christian Adams is the former Justice Department attorney who now writes for PJ Media. He says Issa is justified in going after Holder.

"Quite frankly, there's a very good chance that he misrepresented some important facts about the New Black Panther case and the Fast and Furious case to Congress under oath," Adams notes.

But even in the unlikely case that Congress could force Holder's ouster, the PJ Media writer laments that it would not make any difference.

"All the people who would replace Holder are going to be just as radical, just as corrupt, just as leftist as he is," Adams suggests. "They're not going to appoint a middle-of-the-road, honest attorney general in the Obama administration. That's why the Constitution gave us elections every four years. Let's hope next year that some parts of our government can be fumigated."

The Fast and Furious program was run from 2009 until early 2011, allowing illegal gun purchases with the expectation of tracking the weapons to Mexican drug cartel leaders. But hundreds of guns disappeared, with some eventually turning up at crime scenes in Mexico. U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was killed in 2010 by Mexican drug lords using guns supplied by federal agents.
