DEBKAfile is reporting the following this morning:

Israeli prime minister convenes urgent security forum Friday
DEBKAfile Special report August 7, 2009, 2:36 PM (GMT+02:00) According to the official statement, prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his security cabinet of six were briefed on Middle East developments at a special session Friday, Aug. 7. DEBKAfile's military sources report that an unusually large number of officials were brought together, indicating that an out-of-the-ordinary security development was afoot. They included the chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi, military intelligence chief Brig. Amos Yadlin, Mossad director Meir Dagan, Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin, OC Southern Command Brig. Yoav Galant and several more senior officers.
Other reports, one of which was broadcast yesterday by Israel Radio, within the past 24-hours indicated that the specific cause for this extraordinary security cabinet meeting involved developments in southern Lebanon. According to those reports...
"Lebanon's military commander reportedly is reviewing troops in the south of the country, near Israel, and warning them of a potential conflict with Israel."
Additionally, Hezbollah has been massively rearmed by Iran and Syria with as many as 40,000 missiles. Some of those missiles are newly developed by Iran and have ranges far exceeding the missiles used in the war fought three summers ago.
