It was just last week that there was a minor fury over ABC News essentially turning over its news program to the White House as an advocate of the Administration's plans to nationalize the US health care system. The prime time special "Prescription for America" aired from the East Room with no opposing opinion allowed by the network. The Republican National Committee told ABC that the promotion of the White House agenda without dissenting opinion was "outrageous." The incestuous relationship with ABC and the White House is highlighted through Linda Douglas, a former 8-year ABC News veteran who is now head of communications for the White House Office of Health Reform.
Now CNSNews.com has blown the whistle on The New York Times and CBS. It appears that the latest poll released by the news organizations was skewed to show massive support for socialized health care in the United States. The poll, which corresponded with the timeframe that ABC was promoting its White House health care infomercial, indicated that 72 percent of Americans favored the government creating a health care system that competes with the private sector, and that 50 percent believed the government would do a better job providing medical coverage. CNSNews reports that the poll was skewed because its sample was weighted heavily toward Democratic presidential election voters.
CNSNews reports that pollster Kellyanne Conway analyzed the sampling and concluded that the poll results were deliberately skewed by The New York Times and CBS. The sampling used for the poll was weighted nearly two to one in favor of those who voted for or support the man who occupies the Oval Office. The headline generated by the poll results that Americans overwhelmingly favor government run health care was carried by major news organizations across the nation. By the time that CNSNews wrote the story that the poll results were skewed, Americans had already internalized the poll's findings. Lie perpetrated, deception accomplished.
Jesus said in Matthew 24:4, "Take heed that no man deceive you." And he speaks many times in the gospels about not being deceived. The best way to not be deceived is to know the word of God, the truth, and have understanding of it. This takes discernment. The news media in recent months has been call "lapdogs" of the Administration, the "state run" media, and many more terms that reveal its obsession with the man rather than the truth of his message. Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:13, "Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." Christians must become great discerners otherwise the spirit of deception will prevail.
