Congress to Pass Machiavellian Cap and Trade Bill to Oppress All Americans

The Democratic controlled House of Representatives is about to pass a bill, enthusiastically supported by the White House, that will potentially destroy the economic freedom of every man, woman and child in America. This bill is so insidious that politicians have sold it to the mass media as one that will save the planet and only cost the taxpaying household an average of about $175 a year, according to studies covered by the Wall Street Journal. Yet this bill will undoubtedly send electric bills to record levels - levels far beyond what the average American can pay. And prices at the gas pump are expected to soar to over $5 per gallon.

The cap and trade Waxman-Markey anti-global warming legislation will result in devastating consequences on every American for as long as it is in operation. The entire idea of the legislation is nonsense and any member of Congress voting for it should be tried for malfeasance. Here's how the repercussions of the legislation work: Companies are required to reduce their carbon footprint in order to conduct business. They must buy expensive permits based on the amount of carbon emissions for which they are allegedly responsible. Over a period of time, they must reduce emissions or they will pay more for the permit or ultimately have to close their doors.

Since the law would be targeted toward energy, anything that uses energy would be more expensive. From the clothes you wear to the food you eat to the amount of television you watch, you will be paying a huge price just to live. This legislation will do little to "save the planet", but will do everything to place free enterprise and personal liberties under the control of an overreaching government. This will will not only raise your taxes on every good and service that you use, it will strangle you and future generations economically and place the government in control of your very existence. It is a cunning act of deception that will result in oppression.

It is irresponsible and Machiavellian for elected leaders to pass this legislation. If measured for its anticipated results, this legislation is unconstitutional because it will prevent, even kill, every American's unalienable Rights, among which are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. You might ask, why will these Congressmen do this? Psalms 1:1-2 says,

"Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor abides in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord."
