3 Battlefronts for Fighting Back

The Obama administration has followed the socialist playbook well. In their hostile government takeover of our nation – growing government while shrinking our rights – they have moved so quickly that no one has had time to read the bills, question the details, or even begin to know where to fight back. That has begun to change.

Leaders in Congress and in the pro-family movement are united and determined to stand against this assault. We are committed not to lose our nation on our watch. Today I will focus on three critical battlefronts we must win. The first battle is for our freedom.

Battlefront 1: FREEDOM. Fighting S. 909, The Pedophile Protection Act.

It's freedom of speech and freedom of religion that's at stake with S. 909 – The Pedophile Protection Act. It is designed to silence all opposition to the radical homosexual agenda while providing elevated protection to hundreds of sexual deviances, including pedophilia. Mark your calendars; call your pastor. This Sunday, June 14, Flag Day, pastors across America will be standing for freedom by exposing this dangerous bill that could land them in jail for the "crime" of reading from Romans.

And this Monday, June 15, leaders like Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Dr. Don Wildmon, chairman of the American Family Association, and Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council will be calling on their members and listeners to call their senators to stop S. 909: The anti-freedom Pedophile Protection Act. If you care about freedom, get ready to shut down the Capitol Switchboard to stop this dangerous bill that will criminalize Christianity and protect pedophiles. It's already passed the House and Obama has promised to sign it. Our last chance to stop it is in the Senate.

If there were ever a time to filibuster, that time is now. The good news is: Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., is the first to stand and courageously promise a filibuster for freedom. You can help him by sending an overnight letter to your senators and the other 98 by FedEx. Do it now.

Then call your two U.S. senators and ask them to filibuster this horrendous bill. The number? 1-202-225-3121. Then, make your third call to thank Sen. Jim DeMint for his courage.

Battlefront 2: OUR LIVES. Fighting socialized medicine.

If you thought the government takeover of banks and the auto industry was bad, just wait until the government takes over our health care. President Obama says he wants socialized medicine on his desk by August. If he gets it, they'll be taxing you for another trillion dollars and rationing your health care by Christmas.

Dr. Allen Unruh is coordinating hundreds of tea parties on July 2 to stand against government health care. He'll be handing out a band-aid, an aspirin and a number to wait in line – which is about what this health care plan will look like – only with a great big price tag. Join the fight for our lives (and our taxes) at: teapartypatriots.org. This one is "do or die" … literally.

Battlefront 3: OUR FREE MARKET. Government takeover of the auto industry.

They said we couldn't let the auto industry go bankrupt. Now they have government control and bankruptcy. And with Obama's henchmen in the boardroom, the dealerships they're closing down have something in common: They're Republican. WorldNetDaily reporter Chelsea Shilling uncovered the facts: Only seven of the 789 closed dealerships were Democrats. And five of those seven gave money to Obama's opponents: Clinton or Edwards. Only two of the 789 dealerships gave money to Obama. Apparently their $200 and $250 contributions weren't enough to keep them open.

There is an effort to fight back. Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas, questioned the "Chicago Style" closings on the floor of the U.S. House. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett, R-Md., has drafted a bill called the "Automobile Dealer Economic Rights Restoration Act of 2009." And auto dealers are joining together to fight back for their successful dealerships in court and in the court of public opinion. If you are a Chrysler dealer who got closed down, you can join them by e-mailing former auto dealer Robby Dilmore.

Three battlefronts worth fighting for: freedom, our lives and our free market. It's time to stop shaking our fists at the television and unite to fight back for what matters. The good news is it's starting to happen. I pray we're not too late.
