In this world of politics and social agendas it is very difficult to articulate the good things that come from life. It seems that there are a lot of bad things happening in this world. Certainly, those who call themselves "Christians" are to be the salt and light to a dark and dying world. And often we fall short of this, sometimes we hit it on point. There has been a lot of speculation and angst about the incoming Barack Hussein Obama administration. A man who promised change is appointing the same old worn out Washington, DC inside the beltway politicos to cabinet positions. These are not signs of change, but signs of failure.
Whether it be Republican or Democrat, those who ought to take the blame for the mess this country is in are being rewarded with continuance. That means that there will be more of the same, probably even worse. The same paradigms that created the mortgage crisis; the same concepts that allowed dishonest speculators to work their schemes on Wall Street; the same politicians that somehow have accumulated wealth while convincing their constituents that it was someone else who was taking advantage of the system; the same socialists bent on turning America into the standard bearer for the one world order, will continue to thrive under the Obama administration.
The hypocrisy of it all is amazing: Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State; Robert Gates for Defense Secretary. Obama ran on the platform of getting the US out of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, yet he is considering choosing two people who not only supported the wars politically, but helped prosecute them to their current state. Or how about Obama's pick of former senator Tom Daschle for Secretary of Health and Human Services? Here is a worn out leftist that has been in Washington for decades. Attorney General nominee Eric Holder is a 20 year veteran of Washington with an anti-2nd Amendment bent who was part of the Clinton Administration's Gestapo-like raid on Elian Gonzales to return him to Cuba.
So what Americans are going to experience is the same old worn out liberal policies of the past. The light of Washington, DC as the harbinger for liberty and justice for all will grow dimmer and dimmer. And this is good news. Jesus Christ instructed Christians in Matthew 5:13-16, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it gives light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." You see darkness is the very best place to showcase light. Its time for Christians to shine!
