Consumed Right and Left

Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, said: "If the Zionist regime attacks Iran, the Zionists will have no longer than a week to live." … the Islamic Republic would destroy Israel "in less than 10 days". …"the corrupt and criminal Zionist regime is harming not only the Arab and Islamic world, but all of humanity."

God says: "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves…"On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot in a woodpile, like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume right and left all the surrounding peoples, but Jerusalem will remain intact in her place.” [Zechariah 12:2-3, 6].

The Jerusalem Connection says: In obedience to God’s Word we must pray for the peace of Jerusalem [Psalm 122:6]. But that peace will come only after the prayer of Asaph in Psalm 83 is answered. (You really need to read this prayer to know what’s coming). The fact of the matter is, whether it’s Iran alone or a confederation of Muslim nations that come against Israel, they will all be “consumed right and left.” This is a fact of future history whether the United States stands with Israel or not. In view of the fragile relationship that currently exists between the U.S. and Israel, we need to pray and act to ensure that relationship is strengthened or else we could find ourselves under one of God’s promised curses [Genesis 12:3].
