Turkey Boosts Ties to its Gog-Magog Future

Michael G. MickeyBy Michael G. Mickey

Just yesterday I wrote the following in a commentary on Turkey and its prophetic destiny:

Everything - and I do mean everything - foretold in bible prophecy is lining up for fulfillment, but watching what has taken place in relation to Turkey swinging from being a West-aligned, mostly Israel-friendly nation to the nation we see in Ezekiel 38-39? It has been dramatic thus far and is continuing to play itself out before our very eyes!

Don't blink. You might just miss something.
Well, today is a new day and there are new developments.

The headline of an Arutz Sheva article almost tells the latest tale by itself: Turkey Boosts Ties with Lebanon, Syria and Iran. A few excerpts of interest from the article:
Turkey's continuing warming of relations with Iran, Syria and Lebanon comes as leading Israeli media have criticized Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon for disparaging the Turkish ambassador to Israel. Ayalon voiced anger at the envoy on Monday over a Turkish soap opera that spread a blood libel against Israel by depicting Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) agents as kidnappers of babies.
Ankara used to be considered a close friend of Israel, an image that officials of the Labor party, headed by Barak, are trying to maintain. Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, a veteran Labor politician, said last month that there is no diplomatic crisis between the two countries despite harsh statements against Israel by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ministers.
Turkey’s closer military ties with Lebanon follow by two months defense pacts signed with Syria and Iran. Erdogan last October stated that cooperation with the Syria and Iran is important for peace in the Middle East.

During a visit by Erdogan to Iran, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad praised the Turkish Prime Minister for his “clear stance against the Zionist regime.” Turkey also has signed military pacts with Syria and held a joint military drill with its army shortly after canceling the annual military exercise in which Israel participated.
While taking a far more hostile position against Israel than it has in recent history, Turkey - a nation that will be aligned with Russia, Iran and others in an attack foretold in Ezekiel 38-39 we commonly refer to as the battle of Gog-Magog - is boosting its ties with many of Israel's most hated enemies, taking a position one could easily see as a "clear stance against the Zionist regime" as Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wickedly put it recently.

Day by day, minute by minute, we draw closer to the return of Jesus Christ, an event which is becoming more and more visible on the prophetic horizon. How can this not be the case when there is a multitude of developments that seemingly connect the dots, almost to completion no less, between current events and the last days events foretold in bible prophecy which are awaiting fulfillment? This is a question every skeptic needs to ask themselves, one every Christian awaiting Christ's return needs to know the answer to.

What next?
