Damascus the World's Most Dangerous Destination!

Bill SalusBy Bill Salus
ProphecyDepot.com

According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, tourism in Israel has steadily declined in 2009 in comparison to 2008. There appears to be a developing concern among would be “holy land” travelers that a major Mideast war involving Israel, Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Hamas, and others is inevitable and soon to happen.

In a semi-related area, Israel’s concerns are further fueled by the genuine possibility that immigration into Israel will come to a complete halt the minute Iran possesses its own nuclear weapon. Ephraim Sneh, the former Israeli Deputy Defense Minister, was quoted by the Jerusalem Post on 9/16/2009 as stating:

“If the Islamic republic (Iran) completes its military nuclear program, immigration to Israel would stop, young men and women would emigrate to pursue their future in places seen as more secure and investment in Israel would be reduced.”
Legitimizing the above holy land concerns are the additional geopolitical facts that Mideast Peace talks remain at a standstill, the international community is further isolating the Jewish State, and Israel has been preparing its citizenry and military for a massive multi-front war for the better part of 2009!

Has the Middle East Become the World’s Most Dangerous Travel Destination?

Perhaps so; many end time’s experts are predicting war is presently gyrating upon the prophetic radar. Several of them believe Damascus, Syria will soon be the site of the world’s next deadliest disaster! Ancient bible prophecies foretelling the coming destruction of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited city increasingly pique the attention of today’s top eschatologists.

They feverishly sort through the geo-prophetical blueprints to see if they appropriately align with today’s turbulent geo-political Mideast events. The interrelated prophecies of particular interest are contained in the books of Isaiah and Jeremiah.

Isaiah 17:1 declares that Damascus will someday cease to be a city. The prophecy suggests that it will be reduced to rubble in a matter of hours indicating that it becomes the target of a devastating attack. Only nuclear weapons could accomplish such destruction in a brief time period. Isaiah 17:9,14 encourages the possibility that such an attack is conducted by the Israeli Defense Forces (I.D.F.).

Several bible translations, like the King James Version, New King James Version, and American Standard Version, seem to suggest that Jeremiah 49:23-27 depicts an I.D.F. attack emanating from warships located in the Mediterranean Sea. Presently Israel has several such warships purportedly packing that type of powerful punch patrolling therein!

Although Damascus, (pictured here), was overtaken around 732 B.C. by the Assyrians and has changed sovereign hands several times since, it has never ceased entirely from being a city. In fact today it thrives as Syria’s capital city, housing a population within its connecting metropolitan borders of about 4.5 million people. This is approximately one quarter of the entire nations population.

Furthermore, it is considered by many to be the central hub from which every known Mideast terrorist organization finds safe haven. In light of these important facts and many others, several prophecy scholars have safely deduced that Isaiah’s damnation of Damascus has yet to find its final fulfillment!

In the event Israel strategically strikes Iran’s nuclear sites and in return receives a massive reign of retaliatory rockets from a hostile multi-front venue, Damascus becomes Israel’s most opportune return target. By decisively destroying Damascus, the I.D.F. demonstrates to its Mideast foes that it intends to act boldly, swiftly, and victoriously. Furthermore by dooming Damascus, the I.D.F. limits the mobilization capabilities of several key terrorist entities expected to engage in the anti-Israel confederacy.

Presently Syria is among a multiplicity of world nations that disallow normal diplomatic international relations with Israel. In fact they, like Iran, Lebanon, Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinians, and many more, refuse to recognize Israel’s right exist as the sovereign Jewish State.

Syria, along with Egypt, Jordan, and others, has proximately participated in the major Middle East Arab–Israeli wars of 1948, 1967, and 1973. However, unlike Egypt and Jordan, who have developed a wholesome fear of the I.D.F., Syria still rattles its sabers and stakes its claims upon the strategic Golan Heights, land which Israel currently possesses.

Although Egypt and Jordan have formulated fragile peace treaties with Israel, Syria has refused to emulate their examples. Instead Syria has opted to befriend Iran, Hezbollah, and the Hamas, all of whom exist as Israel’s greatest military threats today.

In light of the fact that Syria has refused to learn its modern day lessons regarding Israel’s right to exist in the holy land, it appears as though they are about to descend from a condition of denial into a dreaded circumstance of destruction.

Jeremiah 49:25 asks – “Why is the city of praise (Jerusalem) not deserted, the city of My joy?” By asking this question of Damascus humanity is caused to consider that there comes a time when Jerusalem and Damascus become two central competing cities. Jeremiah suggests that Syria will someday seek the forced exodus of Jews out from Jerusalem. Presently the Syrians and many of their Arab cohorts seek this very thing. They desire that Jerusalem become the capital of an additional Arab State called Palestine.

According to Jeremiah’s subsequent concluding prophetic words to Damascus, we discover the Syrian army will mobilize in a final attempt to separate Jews from their holy city of Jerusalem. However, this futile Syrian attempt will prove to be fatal, and in the aftermath, Damascus becomes the world’s most dangerous destination!
“Therefore her (Damascus) young men shall fall in her streets, And all the men of war (Syrian army) shall be cut off in that day,” says the LORD of hosts.” (Jeremiah 49:26; nkjv)
Currently there is credible chatter that an unprecedented increase in Christian conversions is taking place in Syria. However, this window of opportunity to preach the gospel in a predominately Arab Islamic country may be about to abruptly shut! If Damascus is soon to become the target of mass destruction, then perhaps these converts ought to be incorporating a sound exit strategy out of Syria within their temporarily flourishing Christian message.

Obama's Judenrein Speech

Joseph FarahBy Joseph Farah

"We continue to call on Palestinians to end incitement against Israel, and we continue to emphasize that America does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements." - Barack Obama to the United Nations General Assembly Sept. 23, 2009

The Nazis had a word for what Barack Obama declared in the United Nations General Assembly last week.

When a city or a district or a nation was "clean of Jews," it was pronounced "Judenrein."

The goal of the Nazis was, of course, for all of Europe to be cleansed of Jews – then the whole world.

Am I being harsh?

Not if you understand the nature of Obama's demand for an end to "Israeli settlements" in Judea, Samaria and even East Jerusalem.

Since Obama took office in January, the U.S. government has greatly increased pressure on Israel to halt any and all of the following:

  • building of new homes and businesses by Jews in these areas;
  • building additions on existing homes and businesses by Jews in these areas;
  • repairing of existing homes and business by Jews in these areas.
Why would the U.S. government want to stop Jews from building homes and businesses in lands that have been under Israel's control for the last 42 years and a part of Israel's history for the last 3,000 years?

Because the U.S. government has pre-determined that these lands are going to be part of a future Palestinian state – one that will be conspicuously Jew-free.

In other words, Barack Obama is in favor of an ethnic-cleansing operation – one that will eventually require the forcible removal of all Jews, no matter how long they have lived in these areas, no matter what they paid for their properties, no matter what.

That's because the monsters who control the Palestinian Authority, even the so-called "moderates," demand that all Jews leave. Jews will simply be unwelcome in this future Palestinian state. End of story. It's a non-negotiable demand.

Such an ethnic-cleansing operation has already been completed in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government even enforced it, dismantling well-established and productive Jewish communities in the apparent misguided hopes the pressure to create more Jew-free territories would cease.

As I predicted then, it only increased the pressure from the United States, Europe and the Arab states to push for a Judenrein West Bank and East Jerusalem. In fact, Israel was immediately rewarded for its collaboration in the ethnic cleansing of all Jews from Gaza by a torrent of rocket attacks from the grateful Muslim "liberators" of the region – terrorist activity that has not ceased to this day.

Who am I to indict Barack Obama in such a way?

I am not a Jew.

I am a Christian-American of Arabic ancestry – one whose grandparents fled the region because of the same kind of Islamic oppression and terror Israel faces today. Christians in the Middle East are growing scarcer by the day – even though it was the birthplace of the Christian messiah, Yeshua, and his Jewish disciples.

It is simply immoral to yield to the anti-Semitic hatred of the so-called "Palestinians" – a euphemism for Arabs who have never had their own country, don't have their own language, don't have their own unique culture, who are free to leave, but don't because they have been treated more than hospitably by their Jewish hosts for the last 42 years. Anyone who does so, Barack Hussein Obama included, should be considered a collaborator in ethnic cleansing and, its ultimate goal, genocide.

As an American, I want to state categorically I oppose this plan.

Barack Obama doesn't speak for me.

I believe Israel – all of Israel – belongs to the Jews. By definition, it is a Jewish homeland. Unlike its enemies, Israel has always embraced non-Jews within its borders – extending to them full citizenship rights including representation in its legislature.

It would seem to me that's the kind of government the West should be supporting. Instead, Obama seeks to reward those who insist on a Jew-free Judea.

Do we ever learn from history?

Haven't we learned this is the road to holocaust?

I know Americans have their own problems with Obama, but why are we sitting around quietly while he embraces policies that would reduce Israel to Auschwitz borders?

It's this simple: If ethnic cleansing is wrong, so are Obama's policies in the Middle East.

What Happens When You Die?

Chuck MisslerBy Chuck Missler

We don't like to think about death. It's not a pleasant subject, and we avoid even discussing it seriously or giving it any diligent study. Yet, our appointment with death is an absolute certainty - probably our only certainty. It may come sooner than we expect: a car crash, a stray bullet, an unforeseen stroke. We all know of personal examples where death has come suddenly, without warning, without any preparations. When it finally does come, what do we expect it to be like?

Shedding Our Misconceptions

One of the penalties of our casual - or reluctant - attitude about death and dying is that most people are steeped in myths and misconceptions. Almost every commonly held belief is erroneous, misleading, and contrary to what we do know about the subject.

There are numerous books that have been published about "near-death experiences," which at best are less than reliable sources, no matter how well intended. But there are several incidences that we can trust as reliable. Stephen, as he was being stoned, gave us a glimpse:

"But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." - Acts 7:55,56
This notion that being greeted by the Lord Himself - at least in Stephen's case - is not fanciful. As serious Christians, we can take significant comfort from Stephen's experience. Paul also speaks of a "near-death" type of experience in which he was caught up to paradise (2 Cor. 12:4). Since this happened 14 years before writing about it to the Corinthians, some scholars believe it may have coincided with his experience at Lystra where he was stoned and dragged out of the city and left for dead (Acts 14:19-20). (Whether this was a "near-death" experience or an actual death-and-return, we'll have to wait until we can ask him.)

Messages from the Dark Side

What makes this subject so difficult to research is that most information is not only unreliable, it is the specific focus of deceit by the ultimate Deceiver himself. One of the first mistakes is to look for answers in the wrong places. Channeling, necromancy (attempted communication with the dead), and all forms of commerce with demonic activity are expressly prohibited in the Scripture (Lev. 19:31; 20:6, 27; Deut. 18:11-22; Isaiah 8:19-20). Even such ostensibly harmless things such as a Ouija board or role-playing parlor games can prove extremely dangerous and are not to be taken lightly.

Satan's deceptions are designed to eliminate any awareness of a coming judgment and accountability, and to promote the perceptions that all roads lead to the same place. [Remember, he is the "prince of this world," and the "prince of the power of the air." (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; Eph. 2:2)]
"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." - 2 Cor. 11:13, 14
So, what position do we take? Jesus warned us:
"Enter ye in at the strait [narrow] gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." - Matthew 7:13-15
If the gate you're relying on is wide, with a large majority taking advantage of it, you've got the wrong gate! Get into the Scriptures and learn what God Himself has to say about the issue.

To be continued next week...

Prophecy at the Midnight Hour: White House Yields US Sovereignty to Global Governance

Bill WilsonBy Bill Wilson

The man who occupies the Oval Office (OOO) committed an unconstitutional and possibly a treasonous act in yielding the sovereignty of the United States of America's free market economy to the rule of the International Monetary Fund at the G-20 meeting in Pittsburgh September 25. This act of international socialism was hailed by the news media as a breakthrough in global economic reorganization and the establishment of a global economic government for the 20 nations that control 90% of the world's economy. An international body will soon control the US economy and the entire world has taken a gigantic step toward the prophetic one world order of the antiChrist.

After the G-20 meeting, OOO explained the G-20 agreement,

"our new framework will allow each of us to assess the others' policies, to build consensus on reform, and to ensure that global demand supports growth for all."
He continued,
"we will strengthen national capital standards...We will create more powerful tools to hold large global financial firms accountable...And we will tie executive pay to long-term performance."
He also said that the G-20 agreed to no longer support the global fossil fuel industry in order to reduce global warming. In straight talk, the US will no longer develop fossil fuels, a global IMF body will manage US banks, and executive pay will be determined by global governance.

This is no less than a Constitutional abortion performed by a man with proven Marxist ties. He has egregiously subverted Constitutional requirements of Senatorial consent by appointing socialists "czars" to run aspects of the government, has violated the 10th Amendment by fomenting the government takeover of the financial and automotive industries, and by attempting to complete a socialist coup against the Constitution by establishing socialized medicine and taxing Americans for the unproven science, yet socialist issue, of global warming. America is truly at a crossroads where the Constitution has been suspended through political usurpation.

The Bible is very clear that the antiChrist will arise and control all the nations. The prophecy clock on the one world order has ticked forward toward the midnight hour. A new day is soon to come where world finances are controlled by a global body of bureaucrats and politicians, paving the way for the one prophesied in Revelation 13:17,
"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
Americans need to wake up and stand against this ungodly and unconstitutional revolution being forced upon them. And Christians around the world need to open their eyes for the coming deception that they are not caught in the snare of satan.

The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming: When? Where?

Jim SimmonsBy Jim Simmons

Yes, they are definitely coming, but when and why? “The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming” was the title of Norman Jewison’s 1966 hit comedy about a Russian submarine going aground on a small island off the coast of Massachusetts. Could this happen again in real life?

Russian Subs off U.S. Coastline

The answer to this question appears to be yes, although there is no humor in it. In early August 2009, for the first time in 15 years, the Pentagon was tracking a pair of Russian subs roaming just outside our territorial waters about 200 miles off the east coast of the United States.

The Akula class subs carry nuclear-armed cruise missiles with a range of about 1,800 miles [Human Events.com, “The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming, ‘Yet Again’” by Casper Weinberger Jr., son of the late U.S. Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger, 8/12/09].

We know that the Russian/Muslim Confederacy invasion of Israel will happen (See Ezekiel 38). We don’t know the exact time frame, but we do know that it will not happen in the immediate future.

A prophecy is not fulfilled until it meets the exact criteria of the prophecy. At least two things have to happen before this Russian invasion of Israel takes place. They are:

  1. Turkey has to be allied with Russia since it is listed as one of the countries in this invasion according to Ezekiel 38:6. The ancient name for Turkey is “Gomer.” Turkey has attempted to join the European Union several times without success. It is currently leaning more toward Russia.
  2. Israel has to be living in safety and security in “unwalled villages” (Ezekiel 38:11). Israel does not currently fit this description [For more information, see my book, The Last Generation: Prophecy, Current World Events, and the End Times].
Arab-Israeli Conflict Preceding the Russian Invasion

According to Psalms 83, Israel’s bordering Muslim countries will make a covenant to come against Israel.
“Come, let us wipe them [Israel] out as a nation....For they have conspired together with one mind; against You do they make a covenant” (Psalms 83:4-5). [See article written by Bill Salus on this BPT BlogSpot 9-3-09].
Israel’s Victory

The outcome of this conflict will be victory for Israel (Psalm 83:16-18). When Israel defeats these nations, it will flourish with the spoils that it takes. This victory will also set the stage for Israel to be at peace. If Turkey has allied itself with Russia by this time, the stage will be set for the coming Russian invasion.

Is it possible that we are presently experiencing the early rumblings of this Arab-Israeli conflict?

What About the Russian Subs?

Are the Russians already planning this invasion of Israel? Those Russian subs were off the U.S. coastline for a reason. If the U.S. still supports Israel prior to this invasion, which is not likely under the current administration, will Russia plan a two prong attack? Is it possible that the recent spotting of the Russian subs off the U.S. coastline is a sign that Russia is in the planning stages to attack the U.S. first or simultaneously with the invasion of Israel? If the U.S. backs Israel, Russia knows that an attack on Israel would also be an attack on the U.S.

The Last Generation

Consider the timing of the points discussed in this article, along with all of the other developments (toward prophecy fulfillment) that have occurred since May 14, 1948 [For an overview of these developments, see The Last Generation]. This article plus many more prophecy fulfillments gives evidence that we are truly in the last generation. If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, ask Him into your heart today. Don’t wait until it is too late. Today is the day of salvation.

10 Perspectives to Gain Peace and Real Riches - Part 2

Wilfred HahnPDFBy Wilfred Hahn

We continue with the objective of this 3-part series: In these troubled times to find peace, contentedness and to “store up for yourselves treasures in heaven” (Matthew 6:20).

4. Crises Are More Tolerable When They Happen to Someone Else

We have just learned that economic and financial crises of the scope now being experienced in the United States, while rarer, nonetheless are within the normal range of human experience. What’s different, of course, is that a major crisis should strike America this time. In many ways, it has been deserved, as have most other such busts. However, for the sake of balanced perspective, we always like to point out the experience of Indonesia during the Asian crisis of 1997 to 1998. Why? Because this nation is the closest in population size to the US and it suffered a terrible economic depression only recently.

North Americans today tend to believe that their current economic downturn is unjust, undeserved and especially bad; that there is some special significance because it is happening to a country thought to be Christian; and, that the crisis is so significant it must be of apocalyptic scope. Actually, when compared to the Indonesian experience, North Americans protest too much.

According to estimates by Goldman Sachs, the clean up of the US banking system may cost the equivalent of as much as 40% of GDP. In Indonesia, stabilizing its failed banks at that earlier time cost approximately 50% of GDP. Indonesia’s stock market fell more than 93% in USD terms and its economy contracted more than 20% over the 1997-98 period. Though 230 million people live in Indonesia, this scale of human suffering at the time (hunger and riots resulted), did not signal the beginning of the apocalypse, nor did it generate much concern here in North America. The troubles of other people are rarely considered so severe as when we experience them for ourselves.

Sadly, the world is full of crises continually, including such heinous things as genocide (even now), famine and wars. By comparison, is it so remarkable that a typical financial crisis should not also fall upon developed countries such as Canada and the United States from time to time, especially so if they are deserved? To date, troubles have only been limited to financial and economic dimensions … no famine, no pestilence. In any case, even were a country considered to be just and Christian, would that imply no trials would ever come upon their land? No. The Bible says, “He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Matthew 5:45).

5. Beware of Economists Bearing Forecasts

To this point, we have made reference to many economic concepts, quoted economic data, and even suggested some macroeconomic predictions. We need to recant. In case you didn’t know, the field of economics is not a science. Far from it. At best, it is a topic of study that may offer some practical tools and concepts. But more generally, the use of economics for predictive purposes and policy must be seen as a secular religion.

The truth is that the prescriptions of macroeconomics are no more effective than voodoo. It is a faculty of study assigned to the humanities. Therefore, because of the extent to which policymakers have put their faith into macroeconomics, false prophets and a fraudulent belief system have deceived us all. The late great global financial crisis (GFC) reveals this to be the case. Why? The vast majority of the prophets and high priests of modern macroeconomics did not predict the economic wreckage of the current crisis (practically none!). What has been witnessed is a systemic failure of the economics profession.

A small number of scholars have emerged who are bravely exposing this empty tower of macroeconomics. In a recently issued paper, the authors pull no punches. They point out that:

“[…] Systemic crisis” appears like an otherworldly event that is absent from economic models. […] The economics profession has failed in communicating the limitations, weaknesses and even dangers of its preferred models to the public […] makes clear the need for the establishment of an ethical code. […] In hour of greatest need, societies around the world are left to grope in the dark without a theory. […] The tradition [of crisis phenomena] has been neglected and even suppressed.”1
Apart from a few brave academics, the scientific fraud and failure of macroeconomics qualifies as the most unspoken fact in history (perhaps with the exception of psychiatry). Yet, at various gatherings of international economists recently, no one admits to this dismal record. Their obvious failure remains an open, unspoken secret. They continue on with their voodoo, further offering up policy prescriptions to governments intending to rescue countries from the current crisis. The blind are leading the blind.

Now, their divinations all reveal a future so dire that massive money interventions by central banks are considered essential. (In other words, massive deceit and theft is necessary. We therefore observe that one evil begets another.) These emergency prescriptions will be no more effective in solving the oppressive economic problems of today than a “bloodletting” or an “application of leeches” is likely to heal a patient suffering from dementia. The whole field of directing government economic policies or predicting the future through macroeconomic theory is really no more valid than following pagan omens and false visions of prophets of old. Beware! It has yet to be proven that an economist is a more successful investor or forecaster than anyone else. “Physician heal yourself” (Luke 4:23).

6. Money: The Common Denominator of Truth?

Quoting a recent article expressing concern from a high profile and respected Christian writer, “Americans have lost some $3 trillion in wealth, as the markets have plummeted some 30%.” Ignoring that this statistic is out of date, just what is the point? Apparently, there is gnashing of teeth; Christian business people (not to mention families and households) are gripped with great fear and they are looking for a special word from the Lord. Tough business conditions are surely not pleasurable, whether for business manager, owner or employee. All the same, some balance is needed in our perspective. Most Christians betray a very worldly and amoral view when it comes to matters of comfort and prosperity. Of course, all humans are predisposed to enjoy the same pleasures. So is this then a diatribe against pleasure? No. We only make the point that a pleasure cannot be consumed or enjoyed without at least some consideration of values and morals. That also applies to the pleasures of wealth and financial gains.

Can you think of a situation where a huge financial gain may be immoral? No doubt, quite a number of such personal scenarios could be imagined. Let’s next consider the same question on a more macro plain…applying generally. For instance, if world real estate values are soaring, is that a good thing or a bad thing? While it may feel pleasurable at the time, we today (in the midst of a real estate crisis) can surely recognize that such a development may not have a pleasant consequence.

In any case, just who has determined that financial upturns are no more allowed by the Lord than downturns? Why is it that Christians rarely ever seek the Lord’s direction when times appear to be indiscriminately “blessed” (seen from a worldly perspective)—i.e. when inflated millions and trillions are on the plus side of the ledger, and society’s arbitrary and imperfect indicators of well-being are all rising (i.e. … stock markets and economic growth)? It reveals a duplicitous and false standard.

Financial and economic indicators are not to be uncritically adopted by Christians as the measure of what is right and wrong. That the Dow Jones Industrial stock market index should rise is no sure indication of a good development or the validation of a benevolent situation. It may be the exact opposite … perhaps an illusory wealth bubble that ensnares many people. That being the case, just where were these Christian commentators when these corrupt financial conditions began to occur in the first place? There were few warnings. More likely, that time of false prosperity, which was actually based upon illicit underlying developments, was wrongly taken as a validation of God’s overall blessings. Could these conditions perceived as “blessed” also not have occurred because God relented and gave people up to the results of their own perversions? (Roman 1:24).

Surely during the last few years, terribly corrupt and idolatrous conditions swept the US and most of the world. And, these conditions stand to get worse as grand monetary manipulations undermine any semblance of fair stewardship and ethics. That financial indicators themselves are deceptive is a very crucial realization that too few Christians have pondered. (For a more in-depth treatment of this subject, please access the booklet, “Forecasting Right From Wrong: New domain of financial markets?”)

As troubling and deceitful as the times may be, we must yet still strive to make the best moral decisions that we can. However, it remains very difficult to extricate ourselves from the influences of pagan perspectives which are so deeply imbedded in our societies. Here is an important question that you must answer for yourself. Jesus, said, “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon” (Matthew 6:24, KJV). Then, is it really possible to wholly serve God, while employing the score-keeping values of Mammon? If you are called to be obedient to the Lord and it costs you in earthly monetary terms, what value perspective will guide your decision? Your answer will reveal whom you really serve. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21).

7. Fictitious Funny Money

One cannot discuss wealth until one can differentiate its modern popular conception from true earthly wealth. To the point of total blindness, the wealth that most everyone talks about in our age of Global Capital is mostly a mirage. The trillions that American households supposedly lost in recent times, just where did it come from in the first place? Was it legitimate, real wealth to begin with? Or was it just an illusory, manipulated contrivance? Seen in the aggregate, the answer is the latter. Indeed, some people did achieve enormous gains in relative wealth, but the vast majority did not. If anything, the world’s distribution of wealth is becoming ever more skewed. In America, this wealth skew is becoming as extreme as in some Latin American countries.

Just what relation is there between financial market values and wealth? If you are shocked by such basic questions, please read our booklet, “Real Wealth: Avoiding false images.” (Several chapters of our book, Endtime Money Snare: How to Live Free , also deal with this critical subject.)

We live in times of fiat money. What this means is that money issued by governments (and central banks) has no fixed call upon true wealth—namely the fruits of mankind’s labor or the earth’s physical resources. Money can be fabricated out of thin air. Though most major central banks around the world try not to overly abuse this power, there are times where policymakers come to view that there is little other option. Indeed, such a time is now.

For example, the central banks of England and the US are in fact “printing money” (having already begun this activity in 2008). What is meant by the phrase “printing money” is that these central banks are now creating money out of thin air … by fiat decree … by the stroke of a pen. Such actions dilute the value of money that is already in existence, not to mention the savings of hard-working people. It is grand theft … deception … wizardry … of a type and scale qualifying it as an endtime development. In practical terms, the purchasing power of your savings and current income will not stretch as far in the future.

In recent decades, there has been another rather nefarious development in respect to financial market wealth. Consider that policymakers have long ago recognized that the surest way to make people feel happy and prosperous is to have the perceived wealth of their homes and other assets rise. (Even most Christians have fallen for this hollow ruse.) This new demagoguery became brazen in the early 1990s, openly endorsed in intellectual circles. A quote reflecting this thinking states that:
“[…] Now many societies, and indeed the entire world, have learned how to create wealth directly. The new approach requires that a state find ways to increase the market value of its productive assets.” Such an economic policy that “aims to achieve growth by wealth creation therefore does not attempt to increase the production of goods and services, except as a secondary objective.”2
Other intellectuals could be quoted that advocate a similar approach. Here the point is clearly made that the apparition of rising wealth—by hook or crook—is to be focused on, not the real aspects of human labor, financial conditions or anything else. Wealth—even if only a dancing imitation—has become the focus of adulation.

The core of this rotten ideology is found in high places. The lure of financial wealth—more exactly, the perception of wealth—has become a deliberate policy tool. Wealth goes before all and is above all. Make most people think that they are becoming wealthier, that more wealth gains are probable, and national prosperity and economic growth will follow. This “hoodwink” ensnarement played a great part in the current economic troubles now being faced by North America and other nations. Frankly, many people were carried away by their lusts.

What’s the bottom line … the profitable conclusion? Don’t be fooled nor ensnared by funny money. Do not allow affections to settle upon such hollow promises of temporal prosperity and therefore to lose sight of eternal riches. The Bible couldn’t provide a more clear warning:
“People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness” (1 Timothy 6:9-11).
We Now Interrupt This Broadcast

John Maynard Keynes was recorded to have said, “If the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, sir?” It is one of the realities of fallible mankind. No one is right all the time. No human being has full revelation nor could fully understand it were this possible. Jesus Christ was the only man who qualified as having full revelation without error. Such brilliant people as John Calvin or Augustine, for example, benefited from important insights, yet they were not exempted from erring. Unfortunately, the downside of great repute was that their errors therefore also wreaked great damage.

Thankfully, my errors affect only a very small number of people. That is a good thing. Facts do change and learning thankfully continues. As such, I have most definitely changed my opinions in a number of matters over time. For example, years ago, contemplating the looming probabilities of financial and economic instabilities, I could not know whether the next big global crisis would be the one occurring inside in the Great Tribulation or not. We now know that this is not the case. There has not yet been a Rapture; nor has the Antichrist come upon the scene; and neither have the final 10 kings that must precede the Antichrist.
“The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings” (Daniel 7:24).
The conclusion? The current global crisis serves as a staging ground (perhaps one of yet many) for other endtime developments.

Another crucial consideration I have jousted with was the question of the advent of the Rapture and the Lord’s return. Of course, Scripture is clear on the point that we cannot know this, “[...] because you do not know the day or the hour” (Matthew 25:13). There is no contesting this fact. Rather, what was puzzling was the proper interpretation of the statement that “the coming of the Son of Man” (24:37) would be at a time similar to that of Noah, where the world would be “eating and drinking” (verse 38), seemingly carrying on in happy complacency. This statement seemed to imply that Christ’s first return to receive the saints “in the air” (1 Thessalonians 4:17) could not occur at a time of world crisis. If so, that would imply that the Rapture could not occur at the present time of worldwide fear and angst. This view is wrong for several reasons. Of course, it also undermines the concept of imminency … that the Rapture can occur at any moment.

As we concluded in Part I of this series, the current financial tremors do not qualify as the extraordinary times of trouble that will exist at the time of Christ’s return (at the end of the end of the Great Tribulation). Conditions then will be much worse. The global financial crisis (GFC) is not outside the experiential norms of the vast sweep of human history. What presently is viewed as a crisis in the minds of most people today is not sufficiently bad enough to qualify as a time where the Rapture cannot occur. It can indeed occur while people are being evicted from their homes in North America or thousands are starving or being maimed and killed in other parts of the world. Sadly, it is all a normal part of the baleful history of sinful mankind.

Though we could be raptured at any time, just what lies ahead for the world? We provide two sets of answers in Part III. One deals with eternal riches, the other with conditions here on earth. We continue in the final Part III.

The Bible as History

Jack KinsellaPDFBy Jack Kinsella

The Palestinian Authority's chief Islamic judge issued an official ruling recently saying that essentially everything in the Bible is wrong. The Jews didn't settle Jerusalem. David didn't buy the land upon which the Temple was constructed from Ornan three thousand years ago.

David didn't found Jerusalem. Jerusalem wasn't sacked by Nebuchadnezzar. The Jews weren't taken captive for seventy years. King Artaxerxes did not issue an order to restore the city and the Temple.

In fact, according to Sheikh Tayseer Rajab Tamimi, "Jerusalem is an Arab and Islamic city and it always has been so."

Of course, for that to be true, more than half of Jerusalem's history would have to be erased, since Islam is less than fifteen hundred years old.

Tamimi claimed that all excavation work conducted by Israel after 1967 have "failed to prove that Jews had a history or presence in Jerusalem or that their ostensible temple had ever existed."

That statement is so ridiculous as to be laughable. But nobody laughed.

Tamimi accused Israel of distorting the facts and forging history "with the aim of erasing the Arab and Islamic character of Jerusalem." He also accused Israel of launching an "ethnic cleansing" campaign to squeeze Arabs out of the city.

Again, nobody laughed, despite the PA's insistence that the West Bank be ethnically cleansed of Jews as a condition of 'peace.'

"By desecrating its holy sites, expelling its Arab residents and demolishing their homes and confiscating their lands and building settlements in Jerusalem, Israel is seeking, through the use of weapons, to turn it into a Jewish city," he said. "This is a flagrant violation of all religious, legal, moral and human values."
The mere mention of those values in the same breath as his statement about Jerusalem's history is stomach-turning.

As noted, if Tamimi's statement is true, the Bible is a work of total fiction. None of it can be true. Jesus was not a Jew. Pontius Pilate wasn't the Roman procurator of Judea. Jesus was not Crucified. There was no Resurrection.

The destruction of the Temple in AD 70 by Titus and the Romans could not have happened. There was no Temple.

The Jews were not banished from the Holy Land. There were no Jews living there. The thousands of historically-verified anti-Jewish pogroms never took place. The Holocaust is a myth.

Christianity is a myth, since it is founded on the belief that a Jewish carpenter named Jesus was crucified on a hill just outside the walls of Jewish Jerusalem six hundred years before Mohammed.

Worst of all, you are dead in your sins and you have no hope of salvation.

Unless you convert to Islam and are killed in the act of murdering as many unsuspecting infidels as possible.

When asked of the signs of His coming, the very first thing the Lord said in reply was, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Deception is one of the hallmarks of the last days - it is the single most important factor in the coming of the antichrist. Everything about him is rooted in deception. The antichrist is like a con-man.

Everybody knows you can't con an honest man. None of these get-rich emails from Africa offering to make you a millionaire if you'll help some rich Christian steal millions from some war-torn African country could work without first finding somebody else willing to steal millions from a war-torn African country.

The same applies to the dying Christian from Ubangi who wants to leave his millions to a worthy ministry - if the worthy ministry doesn't mind breaking a few banking laws. For a con game to be successful, the victim has to be as crooked as the con man. (That's why so many go unreported.)

Once the 'mark' justifies in his mind that everybody else is dishonest, he has crossed a threshold. If you expect everybody to deceive you, you become more tolerant of it. It is the principle of the Big Lie.

For example, the UN regularly condemns Israel for human rights abuses on "Occupied Palestinian Territory." The charges against Israeli 'occupation' are made so often that it MUST be true. Even when it can't be, as in the case of Tamimi's pronouncement.

Why CAN'T it be true? Well, for one thing, if Israel is occupying Palestinian territory, where is it? What are the borders of Palestine and what parts of it are being occupied by Israel? Hamas runs the Gaza Strip. The West Bank territories are a de-facto Palestinian state - the PA even has its own president and prime minister. The only part under Israeli control is Israel. Which, according to the Chief Islamic Judge of the Palestinian Authority, is occupied Palestinian territory.

It is so lopsided as to make one dizzy. Even the United States is beginning to use words like 'occupied Palestinian territory' to describe Israel.

It is more than coincidental that, with all the international problems facing the UN, it cannot tear its focus away from Israel.

It couldn't if it tried. They aren't even sure why they are so obsessed about it. They just are - to the exclusion of all the rest of the world's problems combined.

We've talked about Hitler's principle of the Big Lie before. One could summarize it by saying if one repeats a lie enough times, it eventually becomes the accepted 'truth'.

It is almost like mass hypnosis; "Israel is the Occupier. . . Israel is the Occupier . . . Israel is the Occupier. . ." and before you know it, WHAT Israel is 'occupying' is secondary to the need to 'end the occupation' - which is all Hamas is after, so why blame them?

Its insanity. It makes absolutely no sense in the natural. But it fits perfectly with Bible prophecy.

The Bible predicted that, in the last days, the whole world would be focused on Jerusalem, to the exclusion of almost anything else. According to the Prophet Zechariah,
"in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:2-3)
Until this year, it was hard to imagine a scenario in which Israel would stand alone against the entire world. Israel's protector and international guardian has always been the United States. But that's changing, too.

According to a new poll, only four percent of Israeli Jews believe that the Obama administration is pro-Israel. A majority of Israelis believe he's biased in favor of the Palestinians.

The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5% so the four percent that actually have faith in the Obama administration may not even exist. In any case, they are statistically meaningless.

A year ago, it was a mystery to me how the US could ever abandon Israel. Only a year ago, the same poll found 88% of Israelis considered the US administration to be pro-Israel, 7% said it was neutral and just 2% labeled it pro-Palestinian.

Only three months ago, 31% labeled Obama pro-Israel, 14% considered him pro-Palestinian, 40% said he was neutral, and 15% declined to give an opinion.

This most recent poll essentially says that pretty much every Jew in Israel believes there is good reason NOT to trust the President of the United States or any member of his administration.

Leaving Islam's religious duty to hate the Jews aside for a moment, what excuse works for the civilized world? Israel is the only working democracy in the Middle East.

It is the only nation in the region that affords its citizens basic human rights, full representation in government, freedom of speech and religion and is, by far, the most powerful and most prosperous nation in the entire Middle East.

So why is it the most hated government on earth? Why is it the most often-censured by that bastion of democracy, the United Nations? Why is it the recipient of global criticism, while its dictatorial neighbors, like Jordan, are feted as strong allies of the West?

How can it be that more resolutions of censure have been aimed at Israel by the UN than all the Islamic countries of the world combined? Why would the world side with an openly terrorist organization against the only legitimate, western-style democracy in the Middle East?

Why is it that when Israel puts up a fence to protect itself from bombers, the world condemns Israel's fence without saying A SINGLE WORD about the reasons that make it necessary?

There can be only one answer possible. The world hates the Jews more than it hates totalitarianism, Islamo-facism or terrorism. No other answer explains why Israel consistently ranks in global polls as 'the most dangerous nation on earth'.

What makes Israel's continued existence so dangerous? Israel has the population of New York City and has spent all of its existence since 1948 fighting a war FOR its existence against those repressive Islamic dictatorships.

Bible prophecy for the last days goes beyond the Church Age and outlines how God's plan for the national redemption of Israel will be accomplished. According to Bible prophecy, in the last days, the most hated nation on earth will be Israel, and the most contested piece of real estate on earth in the last days will be the city of Jerusalem.

According to the prophet Zechariah,
"Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto ALL THE PEOPLE round about, when they shall be IN THE SEIGE both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for ALL people: ALL that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH be gathered together against it." (Zechariah 12:2-3)
Until about the end of the 19th century, few people could point to Jerusalem on a map - most believed it was a lost city from the ancient world. Today, it is the focal point of global attention to the exclusion of all else. What happens in Jerusalem is more important to world peace that what happens in Baghdad, Kabul or even Moscow.

But most people could not tell you why they hate Israel. Neither can the leaders of the western democratic countries identify why Israel is more of a pariah nation in their eyes than Syria or Iran. They just know that every bad thing that happens is somehow related to their level of support for Israel.

The Bible says that, in the last days, Israel will stand alone, without a champion, against the combined armies of the world, for a twofold reason; to reveal Himself to a lost and dying world, and to reveal Himself to Israel.
"Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD." (Ezekiel 38:23)

"So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward." (Ezekiel 39:22)
Israel is the only western democracy in the Middle East. It is desperately seeking allies from among the western nations without success. The world is focused instead on creating an ally out of Israel's most implacable enemy. The fact that they are terrorists dedicated to Israel's destruction is strangely irrelevant.

Absent the Bible's outline for the last days, can you find any way to make any of it make sense to you? Me neither.

Bring in the Bible's scenario, and it fits like a glove.
"We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts." (2nd Peter 1:19)

No Genetically Modified Volunteers Wanted

Chuck MisslerBy Chuck Missler

Genetically modified foods have long concerned consumers from many backgrounds, primarily because people fear eating vegetables or grains that have had the genes of other organisms spliced into them. Besides the potential health issues, opponents have worried that GM plants would cross-pollinate with non-GM plants, contaminating local traditional and organic crops. Yet, GM crops are routinely grown across America, and few people even know when they are in fact eating food made from GM plants. In America, a judge has recently ruled that the environmental impact of GM sugar beets must be studied after plaintiffs argued that the genetically modified seed could cause the spread of super-weeds. The debate also continues in New South Wales, Australia, where volunteer GM canola plants have been found growing along the roads.

GM seed giant Monsanto has promoted its lines of seeds across America and the world, offering plant varieties that have been specially designed to resist weed killer. These seeds are not simply the result of careful cross-pollination between different varieties of plants. Rather, they are seeds in which the genes have been selectively spliced and foreign genetic information has been added. Monsanto offers a wide variety of plants that are resistant to glyphosate herbicide, enabling commercial farmers to spray Roundup across their fields to kill weeds without worrying about destroying their crops. American farmers have found the Monsanto seeds handy, but traditional and organic farmers are fearful that the lab-created plants will infect their own crops.

Oregon, United States: On September 21, US District Judge Jeffrey S. White in San Francisco ordered the US Department of Agriculture to more thoroughly investigate the environmental impact of Monsanto Co’s genetically modified sugar beets. Plaintiffs argued that the GM seeds might cross-pollinate with non-GM plants in other fields and contaminate them. Plaintiffs also argued that raising herbicide-resistant plants encourages farmers to add more weed killer to their fields, and therefore could promote the development of “super weeds” that would plague all farmers.

New South Wales, Australia: The controversy has spread across the globe. In Australia, traditional farmers in New South Wales are worried that the genetically altered canola plants in the area will spread into non-GM crops. GM crops make up only about 2-3 percent of the canola production in Australia, yet volunteer GM plants have already started to sprout up along highways.

One farmer named Gai Marshall says she took 20 test kits to test the three-feet tall canola plants growing along a 20 km stretch of the Riverina Highway, and 19 of the plants she tested were genetically modified.

Maharashtra, India: In India, Monsanto’s seeds are actually causing crop failures and suicides. Indian farmers turned to the herbicide resistant seeds to raise cotton, hoping to grow huge cash crops. The GM seeds, though, require significantly more water and pesticides than native crops, and farmers have either had to pay large amounts of money to keep their fields watered or else allow their crops to dry up. Crushed by debt and crop failure, thousands of Indian farmers have committed suicide.

Africa: African farmers have been extremely unwilling to turn to GM plants. Researchers have urged farmers to continue to use the native seed varieties, because traditional seeds are already drought and pest-resistant – which is why they’ve been used in those lands for generations. Genetic diversity among seeds is also important, and farmers are being urged to continue to save and trade seeds among themselves.

Israel: An Israeli crop-protection company Makhteshim-Agan is hoping to compete against GM seed giant Monsanto by producing seeds that are drought and pest resistant, but without adding new genetic material to seeds as Monsanto has done. Instead, Makhteshim-Agan is investing $37 million in the San Diego ag-tech startup Cibus Global, which has developed a Rapid Trait Development System. Cibus can breed plants to have certain desired characteristics in just a few years rather than in centuries.

Despite all this fussing with seed genes, plenty of farmers across the world have been seeking out the old "mutts" of the seed populations. Heirloom seeds from the crops of yesteryear may not produce the biggest tomatoes or the reddest apples, but many consumers consider their produce the best tasting and healthiest. People with organic or backyard gardens have turned to heirloom seeds to grow the same varieties of carrots and onions and potatoes that their great grandparents grew a century ago, and because there are no intellectual rights connected with heirloom seeds, people with heirloom crops are free to save the new seeds from the crops to plant at the next season.
