Ready to Rumble?

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).

WASHINGTON – Today is a big day here in the capital.

It may be our last chance to stop the travesty of a federal government takeover of health care in America.

I don't exaggerate.

The unprecedented call for a vote tomorrow on a bill no one has read prompted the last-minute organization of a rally on the Capitol steps to put Nancy Pelosi and her cronies on notice that we will not accept this hostile takeover of the best medical system in the world, the abrogation of our Constitution and the defiance of the will of the people.

It's time to stand up and be counted – in any way you can.

If you can't be at the Capitol today, send "pink slips" to every member of Congress. The time for mass action is now – before we lose our country.

The election results from Tuesday were encouraging. They sent a powerful message. But this is no time to let down the pressure. It's time to turn it up.

I don't know what the rest of the media have planned for coverage of today's rally in Washington. But I do know WND will be there – with reporters, video camera crews, photographers and live radio coverage. This event will not go unnoticed here.

America is awakening from its long political slumber. Though we face grave threats to our freedom from our own out-of-control, out-of-touch government, we also stand on the precipice of a historic opportunity to do something long overdue – something I wrote about a long time ago – "Taking America Back."

I believe this uprising in America today is not only capable of defeating attempts by government to socialize and tyrannize the country, but to return it to its constitutional moorings.

As I noted recently, it takes sacrifice. It takes vigilance. It takes courage.

It takes more than elections – especially when rogue elements of the government are actively involved in subverting free and fair elections.

We've got to do more than express our will – we've got to impose it. We've got to stand up for our convictions the way those who want to tear America down stand up for their desires. We cannot take no for an answer when we are talking about the future of what was the greatest and freest country in the world.

It's not time for compromising. It's not time for timidity. It's not time for conciliation. It's time for courage, conviction and common sense.

There's one more thing we all need to do.

We need to pray.

We need to humble ourselves before the sovereign God of the universe.

We need to beseech Him for help.

We need to repent of our sins – individually and collectively as a country, because God does judge both people and nations.

If we do these things – and we do them fervently and passionately and with all our hearts – I firmly believe we can still win America back.

No powers on earth will be able to stop us.

And when we're successful, we need to maintain that humility and penitent state. We need to remember who it was that gave us a second chance. We need to be sure we don't get fooled, again.

It takes eternal vigilance to safeguard liberty.

It also requires keeping our eyes focused on our Creator.
